About Rewind Vintage

Rewind Vintage is an award-winning fashion house, selling pre-loved, vintage designer bags, clothes and accessories such as Hermes, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton. Originally on Magento 1 using a bespoke design, the decision was made to take advantage of the process required to upgrade to Magento 2, and integrate a brand new bespoke design in order to refresh the website and give a more modern feel to the brand.

We upgraded Rewind Vintage’s website from Magento 1 to Magento 2, integrating a modern, bespoke design. Our team also migrated all data and customised third-party modules, adding new features like infinite scrolling and a Pre-Order module to enhance the user experience.

Their original website was based on the Magento 1 eCommerce platform. The online store designs were unique and they wanted to upgrade the site to the Magento 2 eCommerce platform. Additionally, the company also wanted to revamp the online store with unique modern web designs.The focus was to relaunch the website refresh and give a more modern feel to the brand.

The new designs were integrated into a fresh Magento 2 platform, which then had all data, such as products, categories, images, content, customers, and orders, migrated over to populate the new site. Rewind Vintage isn’t just an ecommerce site; there are other CMS pages dedicated to other areas of the business, such as Valuations, Customisations, and a ‘Sell to Us’ page that chilliapple also developed in M2. We created a new ‘Customisation Gallery’ to showcase the artistically customised designer bags and accessories Rewind Vintage has become known for. Some third-party modules, such as WorldPay and the OneStepCheckout module, were customised to achieve the exact functionality required.

Results

Besides integrating a new design, we were asked to inject some more modern functionality into the new site to give an overall smoother, better, more intuitive user experience. We changed Magento 2’s default two-step checkout to a more user-friendly one-step checkout and applied infinite scrolling to all category and results pages. Sometimes, it’s the little touches that really make the difference to a high-end brand such as Rewind Vintage, so with that in mind, there was no detail too small. Images change when hovered over, subtle movement in animated gifs of customised bags draw the eye, and ‘Sold’ items appear at the bottom of lists to ensure ‘For sale’ items are seen first. A first-class website for a first-class brand.
