About Printaply
Printaply is a family run, B2B UK leader in developing and supplying print finishing solutions all from their warehouse, located in Sheffield. Printaply offers a range of printing supplies such as adhesives, machinery and components for packaging and stationery.
Printaply came to us with a Magento 1 site that was very much outdated and needed upgrading to Magento 2, and that’s exactly what we did. For a more cost-effective solution, we proposed a theme design, rather than using one of our in-house designers as it lessened the project timeline. Printaply also utilises a third-party ERP system that needed to be integrated with the new Magento 2 website.

Our Process
Our process focused on understanding Printaply’s requirements and ensuring a smooth migration from Magento 1 to Magento 2 with minimal disruption to the business. We implemented a modern design, integrated key systems like the ERP, and optimized the site for better user experience and performance.
Requirements
Printaply wanted us to rebrand their website with a more friendly UX that helps to drive business sales and growth. The company was facing issues largely due to the poor performance of the Magento 1 website. Dealing in a large range of supplies they were also using a third-party ERP system that lacked integration with the proposed Magento 2 site upgrade plans.
Solutions
With an account manager to oversee Printaply’s requirements, chilliapple provided a team of Magento developers to develop the latest version of the client’s B2B shop. Along with implementing a new theme, we needed to migrate all existing features as well as customer accounts, pricing, and orders. This was in addition to building from scratch an API connector that bridged their existing ERP system with their new Magento 2 store.
Results
There was no business interruption during the upgrade and Printaply benefited from an improved user journey and design rebrand as well as a seamless integration with their ERP system which successfully communicated with their Magento 2 admin. We performed Integration with a 3rd party ERP system, Exact Online. We also delivered a bespoke API connection and created new configurable products to improve usability.
