Business requirements

Printaply is a family run, B2B UK leader in developing and supplying print finishing solutions all from their warehouse, located in Sheffield. Printaply offers a range of printing supplies such as adhesives, machinery and components for packaging and stationery.

Printaply came to us with a Magento 1 site that was very much outdated and needed upgrading to Magento 2, and that’s exactly what we did. For a more cost-effective solution, we proposed a theme design, rather than using one of our in-house designers as it lessened the project timeline. Printaply also utilise a third-party ERP system that needed to be integrated with the new Magento 2 website.

Our solution

With an account manager to oversee Printaply’s requirements, chilliapple provided a team of Magento developers to develop the latest version of the client’s B2B shop.

The client needed a seamless transition to Magento 2, but also a design facelift that was modern and felt more trusting to the customer. Along with implementing a new theme, we needed to migrate all existing features as well as customer accounts, pricing and orders. This was in addition to building from scratch an API connector that bridged their existing ERP system with their new Magento 2 store, as their ERP did not have a Magento 2 API available.

The results

There was no business interruption during the upgrade and Printaply benefited from an improved user journey and design re-brand as well as a seamless integration with their ERP system which successfully communicated with their Magento 2 admin. The new website has automated many of their business practices.
