The Goodlookers website was operating on an out of date version of Magento and needed to be updated to the latest version of Magento 2 to ensure security and the best user experience. Their eCommerce website was based on an obsolete version of Magento. Their demands were straightforward, and they asked us to update the website to the latest version of Magento 2. Selling affordable and fashionable glasses online, the company wanted to ensure maximum security for its customers. Their vision was to upgrade to Magento 2, the latest release, to ensure optimum security and launch the best user experience. They also demanded various enhancements to the site content and the purchase and payment journey.

With a core chilliapple project team of Magento specialists and an account manager, we put in place a plan that would not interrupt ‘business as usual.’ We retained all existing functionality and fully migrated all product and category data and other site content, as well as customer and order data. We ensured the upgraded site was optimised for speed as well as for search engines. SEO equity was retained, and Google Analytics was configured.  We used a mobile responsive design theme to keep the costs down and migrated the site to a dedicated UK Fast Magento optimised server.

We also delivered all the required changes and enhancements.  After launch, we tracked site performance for 60 days and fixed any bugs. There was no business interruption during the upgrade and Goodlookers benefited from an improved user experience and journey to purchase which has been hugely important during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
