Business requirements

My Badges provide conference supplies offering branded promotional items for schools, colleges and universities such as Employee ID’s, Name Badge Holders and Lanyards, across the United States and Canada. With two online stores to cope with the demands, My Badges came to us for support on their WordPress multistore for their US site (https://store.mybadges.com/) and their CA site (https://store.mybadges.com/ca/).

My Badges came to chilliapple with a long list of issues and bugs that needed to be fixed as they were compromising the user experience on the frontend. After reviewing the list and undergoing the backend, chilliapple’s solution was to firstly upgrade the WordPress version and all enabled plugins as their site was extremely out of date, and then onboard My Badges on to one of our support packages.

Our solution

After discussing with an Account Manager on the best support for My Badges, it was decided that the client would onboard on our Bronze Support Package. As part of the bronze package, the client has enjoyed platform updates to not only update core files to fix known bugs and optimise the system, but also security patches are included to keep data protected. This also included keeping all third-party plugins updated to their latest versions so as not to compromise security or cause conflict with other modules.

A primary focus of the client was to increase the reliability of communications in the ordering process, both for the customer and for the sales team. By providing us with mock-ups of the work and changes they would like to make, our development team worked to implement the new features on both sites. After successfully completing feedback loops with the client to make sure the new look had the desired effect, the changes were made live for customers, and the My Badges team, to enjoy.

The results

My Badges continue to have a fully upgraded and secure site to conduct their ever-expanding business. With new development work in the pipeline to continue adding improvements to the site, we look forward to the future with My Badges.
