P-Wave is a trading name of SGI Industries, who had an existing WordPress website but no ability for customers to make purchases online.

The business requirements

P-Wave is a trading name of SGI Industries, who had an existing WordPress website but no ability for customers to make purchases online. P-Wave also required that reporting on sales data from this site be consistent with other SGI Industries websites, which are built in Magento. These Magento websites are integrated with Interprise Web Services, whereby customer and order details are sent from Magento to Interprise, and product and pricing information is sent from Interprise to Magento. The objective was to replicate this process with the WooCommerce site and ensure consistency of reporting across the Group.

The second requirement was to create a Customer Registration and Login process. This would enable a more straightforward purchasing process for trade distributors who have custom prices and discounts, whilst also enabling B2C sales direct to the consumer.

Our solution

chilliapple integrated WooCommerce into the current WordPress website making it an ecommerce site where users can easily find and purchase P-Wave branded products. We also added the following functionality: customer registration and login, guest checkout, trade account creation for distributors, add to basket, and minimum order quantities per product for trade customers.

We then developed a WooCommerce plugin for Interprise Web Services, connecting to the API endpoints between the two systems. The plugin is also compatible with other WooCommerce websites, simply by installing and configuring it with the Interprise Web Services license key and API details.

The results

The result was an ecommerce site that makes the order process faster and more straightforward for trade customers, and extends P-Wave products’ availability to the B2C market. It has also ensured consistent reporting for the Group’s Financial Director via its Interprise connection.
